Game Overview
If you grew up loving the Ice Age movies, this little DS game is a nostalgia trip wrapped in mini-games. You’ll play as Manny, Sid, Diego, and the gang across a bunch of quick Arctic challenges—some are surprisingly fun, like launching a mammoth off an iceberg catapult, while others (looking at you, sliding puzzle) might make you tap the touch screen a little harder than necessary.
It’s definitely aimed at younger players, but there’s a goofy charm to the way the characters bumble through events like glacier bowling or seal balancing. The controls are simple, though a few games feel like they needed another pass to tighten up the responsiveness. Still, if you’ve got a kid (or just miss Scrat’s eternal acorn chase), it’s a decent way to kill time between bus rides.
