Play Illusion of Gaia Online
You shove tables with your mind, morph into a spectral knight, and chase a runaway princess through surreal ruins—this SNES RPG feels like a half-remembered dream where history and weird psychic powers collide.

Illusion of Gaia came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Quintet and published by Enix. It was part of that wave of action RPGs that tried to blend storytelling with real-time exploration, sitting alongside titles like Soul Blazer and Terranigma, though it always felt a little more introspective and strange.
You control Will, a young boy with psychic abilities, traveling the world to uncover the mystery behind a celestial threat. Gameplay involves navigating areas screen by screen, solving environmental puzzles by moving objects with telekinesis, and fighting monsters in real-time combat. You explore dungeons, gather red jewels to progress, and periodically transform into two other forms: the agile Freedan and the powerful Shadow. The pacing is deliberate, with some challenging boss fights and thoughtful exploration sections. It feels like piecing together a forgotten myth through quiet, sometimes lonely, adventure.
