Game Overview

I remember picking up Incredible Crash Dummies for the Sega Genesis back in 1994. It was one of those games that LJN put out, based on the toy line and the safety PSAs. The Genesis had a lot of platformers and beat 'em ups at the time, but this one stood out just because of how weird it was. You weren't saving the world or fighting aliens; you were just a crash test dummy trying not to fall apart.

You control one of the dummies, navigating through side-scrolling levels filled with hazards like crushers, saw blades, and bottomless pits. The main goal is to reach the end of each stage without getting completely destroyed, though you can lose limbs and keep going. Your character can jump, punch, and use a few special moves, but the real focus is on avoiding obstacles and timing your movements. The game can be pretty unforgiving, with instant death traps and limited continues. It feels clunky and unpredictable in a way that's both frustrating and oddly charming.
