Game Overview

Incredible Crash Dummies came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, published by LJN. It was one of those games that stood out on the shelf because of its weird concept, based on those public service announcement dummies you'd see in old commercials. It didn't try to be a serious platformer or a deep adventure; it was just pure, silly fun in an era full of mascots and attitude.

You control a crash dummy named Slick, and your goal is to rescue your friends from the evil Junkman by navigating through hazardous factory levels. The main mechanics involve intentionally crashing into obstacles to break your body apart, then reattaching your limbs to proceed. You also collect spare parts to rebuild yourself and use a limited turbo boost to smash through tougher barriers. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty comes from timing your impacts just right to avoid losing too many pieces at once. It feels chaotic and ridiculous in the best way possible, like controlled destruction with a purpose.
