Infected is one of those ridiculous PSP games that shouldn’t work but somehow does—imagine a zombie outbreak in Christmas-themed New York, where you play as a cop whose blood is basically zombie dynamite. You shoot zombies until they’re weak, then inject them with a vial of your own blood, which makes them explode in the most satisfying chain reactions. The more you weaken, the bigger the boom.

The real charm is how stupidly fun the combo system gets—once you line up a few zombies just right, the screen fills with gory fireworks. And yeah, the online mode was weirdly ahead of its time: beating someone would "infect" their avatar with your look, and you could track your zombie virus spreading across the world like some bizarre pandemic simulator. It’s janky, over-the-top, and exactly what you’d want from a mid-2000s portable shooter.
