Play International Soccer Online
Control a player, chase the ball, pass, and shoot to outscore your opponent in this chaotic soccer simulation from 1983.
International Soccer came out in 1983 from DK'Tronics for MS-DOS, a time when most games were simple and text-based. It was one of the early attempts at a soccer simulation on home computers, running on hardware that could barely handle more than a few colors and blocky sprites. You knew what you were getting into; the screen was crowded, the players were small, and the field was just a green rectangle with two goals.
You control a single player at a time, switching between them to chase the ball, pass, or take a shot. The main objective is to outscore the opponent within the time limit. Signature mechanics include a top-down view that scrolls with the ball, basic dribbling that feels more like pushing a block, and a shot power meter that determines how hard you kick. The pace is frantic, almost chaotic, and the difficulty comes from the limited control and the computer's aggressive, if predictable, AI. It feels like a rough sketch of the sport, but scoring a goal after a messy scramble is genuinely satisfying.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
