Super Soccer Champ is one of those SNES sports games that feels a little chaotic in the best way. The camera zooms in tight when someone scores, and the field scrolls at this weird angle that makes everything feel faster than it actually is. You’ve got this tiny radar at the bottom to keep track of where everyone is, but half the time you’re just reacting to whatever’s on screen.

The ref’s kind of a joke—he’ll randomly stop paying attention, and that’s your cue to absolutely deck an opponent. No cards, no fouls, just pure, unlicensed soccer violence. It’s ridiculous, but weirdly satisfying when you knock someone over mid-dribble.

Teams vary depending on which version you’re playing (Argentina and Brazil are always there, but some editions swap in Japan or France). There’s even a Euro '92 edition with a different super shot mechanic, though the core gameplay’s the same. Play it solo or grab a friend for some aggressively janky multiplayer matches.

It’s not the prettiest or most polished soccer sim, but there’s something charming about how over-the-top it gets.
