Game Overview
Remember Karate Champ on NES? It's that classic 1v1 fighter where you either train solo to climb the ranks or go head-to-head with a friend. The single-player mode throws you into a karate school first—you'll practice kicks and punches before entering tournaments. And after each fight, there's this ridiculous bonus round where you're smashing roof tiles or dodging a charging bull on the beach. Feels over-the-top, but in a good way.
Two-player mode is where it really shines, though. You pick from 12 different backdrops (some way more dramatic than others) and try to knock each other down with proper karate moves. Scoring's a bit odd—half points for weak hits, full points for solid knockdowns—but it makes matches surprisingly tense. And yeah, bonus rounds still happen here too. Nothing like celebrating a win by breaking boards while your friend fumes.
