Play Irem Major Title, The (Japan) Online
Pick your golfer—pompadour guy rules—and smack balls across surreal courses where wind actually messes with you. That swing meter’s simple but brutal, and the later courses? Pure evil.

Game Overview
The Irem Major Title is one of those SNES sports games that somehow feels more alive than it should. You pick from these weirdly charming golfers—I always go for the dude with the pompadour—and suddenly you're smacking balls across these bright, slightly surreal courses. The wind actually matters, but not in a "break out the calculator" way like some golf sims.
What I love is how it nails that arcade feel. The swing meter's simple but punishing if you mistime it, and the courses get properly devious later on. Also, the music? Weirdly funky for a golf game. Found myself humming it after turning off the console.
If you've played R-Type, you'll spot Irem's fingerprints everywhere—the colors pop just right, and there's this playful energy most sports games from this era lack. Still holds up if you want something between Mario Golf and a proper sim.
