Game Overview
It Came From the Desert is this weird, wonderful mashup of 50s B-movie horror and Amiga action-adventure. You play as Dr. Greg Bradley, a geologist who rolls into the desert town of Lizard Breath expecting to study a meteor crash—only to stumble into something way more terrifying. The whole thing feels like someone took Them and turned it into a playable fever dream.
At first, it’s all dusty roads and suspicious townsfolk, but soon you’re juggling first-person bug shootouts, top-down chaos, and even a frantic chase sequence. The pacing’s surprisingly tight—you’re nudged along this scripted path, but the shifts between gameplay styles keep it from feeling stale. One minute you’re talking to the sheriff, the next you’re blasting giant ants from a jeep. Classic Amiga jank in the best way.
It’s cheesy, tense, and oddly atmospheric—like digging up a VHS tape that shouldn’t exist.
