Jawbreaker on the Atari 2600 is a weird little gem—nothing like the Pac-Man clones you might expect. Instead, you’re this set of teeth (yep, just teeth) bouncing between nine horizontal levels, gobbling up candy dots while dodging these creepy happy faces that want to knock your teeth out. One touch, and you lose a life. Brutal.

Every now and then, a vitamin pops up in the middle—grab it, and suddenly you’re the predator. Those happy faces turn red and scared for a few seconds, flashing as a warning before they revert. The levels get trickier, with moving gaps to slip through or wrapping around the edges of the screen. It’s simple, but there’s something oddly satisfying about clearing a level and getting that little teeth-brushing animation like you’ve won at dental hygiene.

Honestly, it’s janky in that classic Atari way, but once you get the rhythm, it’s hard to put down.
