Game Overview

Jazz Jackrabbit on the Game Boy Advance came out in 2002, developed by Game Titan. It was part of that wave of early GBA titles trying to bring a bit of PC or console energy to the handheld, a side-scrolling shooter that felt a little bigger and faster than a lot of the platform's other offerings at the time.

You control Jazz, a rabbit with an attitude and a blaster, running and gunning through a series of themed worlds. The main goal is straightforward: get to the end of each stage, defeat the boss, and move on. The signature mechanics are all about momentum; you collect coins to buy weapon upgrades between levels, you find temporary power-ups like spread shots and homing missiles during stages, and you use a double-jump and ground-pound to navigate the platforms and smash enemies. The pacing is relentless, and some later levels get genuinely tough with enemy spam and tricky jumps. It feels like a constant, chaotic scramble to stay alive and keep your firepower up.
