Game Overview

Jazz Jackrabbit: Holiday Hare 1994 was a seasonal release from Epic MegaGames, part of their MS-DOS classic games lineup. It arrived during a time when platformers were abundant, but few offered the speed and visual polish this one did. The game was essentially a holiday-themed expansion to the original Jazz Jackrabbit, adding winter and Christmas-inspired levels to the existing formula.

You control Jazz, a green rabbit armed with a blaster, and your goal is to rescue a kidnapped princess from the villainous turtle Devan Shell. The gameplay involves running and gunning through side-scrolling stages, collecting gems and power-ups while blasting enemy turtles and robots. Signature mechanics include bouncing on springs for extra height, riding floating platforms, and finding secret areas tucked behind breakable walls. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike sharply in later stages, demanding quick reflexes and careful jumps. It feels like a frantic, festive dash through a chaotic winter wonderland.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
