Game Overview

Jeanne d'Arc came out on the PlayStation Portable in 2006, developed by Level-5 and published by Sony. It was one of those tactical RPGs that felt right at home on the PSP, a system that had a solid run of strategy games around that time.

You control Joan of Arc and her companions through grid-based battles against English forces and demonic invaders. The main goal is to reclaim France by winning key engagements across a story-driven campaign. Two mechanics stand out: the Burning Aura system lets you sacrifice equipped items for temporary stat boosts, and transformation stones allow certain characters to assume more powerful forms for a few turns. The pacing is brisk, with most battles designed to be completed in under half an hour, though some later maps demand careful positioning. It feels satisfying to outmaneuver enemies on such a compact screen.
