Man, this one takes me back. Joe Montana II Sports Talk Football was one of those Genesis games that actually tried to make football feel alive—mostly thanks to the play-by-play commentary. Yeah, it’s repetitive after a while (you’ll hear "Montana... back to throw..." about a thousand times), but back then, hearing actual voice clips in a sports game was wild.
The gameplay’s solid—not as deep as Madden, but way more arcade-y and fun if you just wanna smash through a quick game. The playbooks are simple enough that you don’t need a manual, but there’s still some strategy in picking the right pass routes. And those pixelated touchdown celebrations? Pure 90s cheese.
