Jumping came out in 1992 as an arcade cabinet release from a developer called Jumping Studios. You control a small, blocky character whose only ability is to jump. Your goal is to navigate from the bottom of the screen to the top, clearing each stage by reaching the exit door. The core mechanics involve precisely timing your leaps across disappearing platforms and avoiding stationary hazards like spikes and moving enemies. The difficulty ramps up quickly as the levels introduce conveyor belts, shifting blocks, and enemies with set patrol routes that force you to stop and plan your next move. It feels like a tense game of spatial chess where every jump is a commitment.
