Game Overview

Kaboom! is one of those Atari 2600 games that looks simple until you’re actually playing it. You’ve got this little guy—the "mad bomber"—dashing back and forth at the top of the screen, chucking bombs downward like he’s got a personal vendetta against your buckets of water. Your job? Scoot your buckets left and right to catch ‘em before they hit the ground.

At first, it’s manageable—he moves slow, drops one bomb at a time. But after a few levels, he turns into a total maniac, speeding up and lobbing multiple bombs in quick succession. Miss one, and you lose a bucket. Lose all three, and that’s it—game over. The tension builds in a way that’s weirdly addictive, even if the graphics are just a few colored blocks. You’ll catch yourself leaning sideways like it’ll help your buckets move faster.
