This one stands out mostly for its strange, almost comical cast and a visual style that feels both cheap and oddly endearing.
You pick from a lineup of fighters, including the returning fire-breathing Karnov, and face off against the rest of the cast one by one. The main goal is straightforward: defeat your opponent in two-out-of-three rounds to advance. A couple mechanics set it apart, like the weak point system where hitting a character's glowing spot does extra damage, and certain fighters use unconventional projectiles, such as throwing their hat or blowing giant bubbles. Matches can feel a little stiff and the pacing isn't as smooth as Capcom's offerings from the same era, but there's a janky sincerity to the action.
