Less waiting around, more zapping enemies with your little pixelated critters.

The GBA sprite work still holds up—lots of neon greens and purples, and the Denjuu designs are just the right amount of janky-cool. My first pick was this little fox thing with antennae, which turned out to be way better at dodging than the tanky beetle I tried later. Pro tip: don’t ignore the speed stat unless you like watching your monster get wrecked before its turn.

It’s one of those games that makes you go "why didn’t more people play this?"—but hey, at least the speed tweaks mean you can actually finish it without losing a weekend to grinding. The soundtrack’s got some surprisingly crunchy synth beats too. If you’re into obscure monster battlers, this one’s a trip.
