Game Overview

Okay, so Telefang Power Version is that weird Game Boy Color game some bootleggers slapped the "Pokémon Diamond" label on years before the real Diamond existed. You play as a kid who gets zapped into a world of phone-themed monsters called Denjuu—instead of Poké Balls, you collect their phone numbers (which is honestly kinda charming).

The battles are simple turn-based stuff, and yeah, it’s definitely a Pokémon clone at heart, but there’s something oddly endearing about calling up your monster pals mid-fight like they’re your contacts list. The sprites are chunky and colorful, and some of the Denjuu designs are legit cool (others… less so).

It’s janky in places, and the translation’s rough if you’re not playing the Japanese original, but if you’ve ever wanted to see what happens when someone mixes Tamagotchi with a 90s cellphone ad, this is your game. Just don’t expect deep strategy—half the fun is the weirdness.
