Slide tackles feel risky but rewarding, and every through ball has that perfect weight—like the ball’s got its own stubborn personality. Refs actually hold grudges, and slow-mo replays make your ugliest goals look intentional.

Kick Off 2 came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Anco Software. It arrived when computer football games were still figuring out how to translate the sport's flow and physicality onto a keyboard. This one didn't try for realism so much as a kind of frantic, immediate energy that set it apart from other titles of the era.
You control a single outfield player at a time, switching with a button press to whoever is nearest the ball. The main objective is simple: score more goals than the opponent. Signature mechanics include the aftertouch system, where you can bend the ball's trajectory after kicking it, and a slide tackle that sends your player hurtling across the pitch, effective but often leaving you out of position. Matches are fast, almost twitchy, and the learning curve is steep, demanding quick reflexes and anticipation. It feels less like managing a team and more like being in constant, breathless motion.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
