Templar’s back, but this time it’s all about holding angles and picking off Helghast from above—get swarmed, dig in, and pray your upgrades hold. Rico actually listens now, which helps when the missions start piling up.
Game Overview
Killzone: Liberation takes the gritty warzone of the original and flips it into this tense, top-down shooter where you’re constantly outnumbered but never outgunned. You’re still Templar, but now you’re picking off Helghast from a new angle—less running and gunning, more tactical positioning. That zoomed-out tactical view? Lifesaver when enemies swarm from all sides.
Rico’s back too, and honestly, he’s less of a liability here than in the PS2 version. You can actually tell him where to go, which helps when you’re juggling objectives like blowing up installations or rescuing hostages. The auto-aim keeps things fluid, but don’t get comfortable—missions throw waves of enemies at you, and the upgrades you pick between missions (extra ammo, damage boosts) make all the difference.
Multiplayer’s where it shines, though. Sneaking through maps in co-op or going full chaos in six-player Capture the Flag feels surprisingly smooth for a PSP game. Just watch out for mines in those challenge missions—they’re brutal.
