Knightmare Disk1 came out for the Amiga in 1991, published by Mindscape International Ltd. You control a party of four adventurers, each with different strengths, navigating screen by screen through the twisting halls of Dunshelm Castle. Your goal is to find four artifacts: the Shield, Sword, Cup, and Crown. The mouse-driven interface lets you interact with objects and enemies contextually, choosing to fight, cast spells, or use items depending on the situation. Combat offers options like melee and ranged attacks, and magic plays a key role in overcoming obstacles. The game allows you to save anywhere, which is helpful because the pacing is deliberate and the difficulty can be steep.
