Play Koto Battle : Tengai no Morihito Online
Dodging attacks in tight turn-based duels while your tiny samurai swings his sword with actual weight—the pixel art and snappy combat make this GBC RPG way more gripping than it looks.

Koto Battle: Tengai no Morihito came out in 2001 for the Game Boy Color, developed by Koto Laboratory and published by Natsume. It was part of that late-era wave of GBC titles that really pushed what the hardware could do visually and mechanically, offering a deeper experience just before the Advance took over.
You control a young warrior navigating screen by screen through monster-filled forests and multi-level dungeons, using a mix of real-time movement and turn-based combat. Your main goal is to recover scattered pieces of a sacred artifact, which involves careful exploration, timing your sword strikes, and occasionally using a bow to hit distant switches or enemies. The pacing is deliberate, with some tricky enemy patterns and environmental puzzles that slow you down in a good way. It feels focused and thoughtful, like each room is a small challenge to solve.
