Kouryuu no Mimi came out on the Super Nintendo in 1995, published by VAP. It was one of those late-era SNES RPGs that felt a little off the beaten path, not trying to be the next big epic but just doing its own strange thing. You play as a kid who ends up shrunk down and exploring the body of a dragon, moving screen by screen through surreal environments that mix organic and mechanical parts. The main goal is to find your way out, but you spend a lot of time talking to odd characters and engaging in turn-based battles that are simple but strategic. You collect items to solve environmental puzzles, and the pacing is slow, almost dreamlike, with a difficulty that comes more from exploration than tough combat. It feels like wandering through someone else's strange dream.
