Play Lagoon (Germany) Online
Nasir swings his weirdly short sword through monster-packed dungeons, hunting for hidden paths while an oddly epic soundtrack makes saving the water supply feel like a grand quest. The magic system’s trial-and-error, but nailing a good spell combo makes up for the janky combat.

Lagoon came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by ZOOM Inc. It was one of those early action RPGs that tried to capture the feel of games like Ys or Zelda, but with its own particular quirks. You play as a hero named Nasir, tasked with restoring the world's water supply by defeating four evil serpents.
You control Nasir directly, moving through interconnected areas and dungeons, fighting monsters with a short-range sword and later using magic spells. The game progresses screen by screen, with a lot of backtracking and searching for hidden switches or paths to advance. Combat is up close and often awkward, since your reach is limited and enemies can be relentless. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can feel uneven, especially with some cheap enemy placements. It's a game that demands patience, but there's a certain charm in uncovering its secrets and pushing through the frustration.
