Play Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 Online

You play as a panicked alien or a confused human in 1958 Nevada, clicking through weird sci-fi chaos as leather-clad aliens turn Planet X into their bizarre vacation spot. Lydia’s got the best lines, but Zeke’s gas station meltdowns are pretty great too.

Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 (MS-DOS) – Aliens, Smart Alecks, and a Lot of Clicking

Released in the mid-‘90s, Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 takes the wild, irreverent spirit of the original text adventure and drops it into a full-blown point-and-click world — complete with cheesy sci-fi tropes, 1950s small-town charm, and a cast of oddballs you won’t forget.

What’s the Deal?

It’s 1958, and just when Earth thought it was safe from space weirdos, trouble comes crashing back — literally — in the form of Barth, an alien calling himself a "Pulsating Inconvenience." He brings news: the Leather Goddesses have taken over Planet X, and things aren’t looking good.

You’ll pick one of three heroes to guide through this cartoonish mess:

  • Barth – The overly dramatic alien from Planet X with a habit of causing trouble and panicking.
  • Zeke – A Nevada gas station owner who just wanted to fix cars, not save the galaxy.
  • Lydia – An astronomer’s daughter who’s smarter than most of the people around her and ready to kick some leather-clad butt.

Each character brings their own flavor to the story, which means different puzzles, jokes, and perspective. Replay it if you want the full experience — or just to hear new sarcastic one-liners.

What Makes It Fun?

  • No typing, no problem: The old-school text parser is gone — everything’s done through a slick smart-cursor interface.
  • Choose your hero: Different characters = different routes, humor, and obstacles.
  • Retro sci-fi vibes: Flying saucers, cheesy dialogue, and atomic-age optimism — with aliens who don’t play nice.
  • Conversations that matter (or don’t): Pick from multiple dialogue options — some are helpful, others just funny.
  • It actually looks good: Compared to its purely text-based predecessor, this one has colorful graphics and animated scenes that make Atom City feel alive (and weird).

How It Works

  • Click to move, grab, poke, or talk: The cursor changes depending on what you're hovering over — no guesswork.
  • Use your brain: Many puzzles depend on logic, attention to detail, or just talking to the right person at the right time.
  • Pick your replies carefully: Some conversations unlock clues or trigger events — others just lead to hilarious dead ends.
  • Want a different angle? Start a new game as another character for fresh dialogue and new takes on the same mess.

Helpful (and Slightly Sarcastic) Tips

  • Talk to everyone: Yes, even the guy with the tinfoil hat. You never know who has useful info (or a good insult).
  • Click everything: Half the fun is discovering random gags or hidden items.
  • Save often: It’s still an adventure game — you can absolutely mess up.
  • Try all three characters: You’ll get new jokes, different puzzles, and maybe even a little respect for Zeke. Maybe.

Why It’s Still Worth Playing

Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 may not have made waves like the original, but it’s got heart — and a healthy dose of weirdness. It’s a throwback to when games weren’t afraid to be a little absurd, and it manages to balance nostalgia with decent puzzle design and plenty of personality.

If you enjoy old-school adventure games with jokes that lean slightly inappropriate and puzzles that reward curiosity, Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 is absolutely worth a spin. Just don’t expect it to take itself too seriously — and neither should you.
