Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole came out on the Nintendo DS in 2010, published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It was part of that wave of movie tie-in games that were everywhere on the DS, trying to capture a bit of the film's adventure. The hardware wasn't cutting edge by then, but it was a solid platform for this kind of action.
You control a young owl named Shard, flying through levels to rescue hatchlings and fight off the villainous Pure Ones. The main objective is to progress through the story by completing missions, which involve a lot of on-rails flying combat. You use the stylus to aim and tap to fire your talons or use special attacks, and you sometimes have to blow into the microphone to generate speed boosts or create gusts of wind. The pacing is fairly straightforward, and the difficulty is manageable, making it accessible. It feels responsive and engaging when you get into the rhythm of dodging and attacking.
