LEGO Football Mania on the GBA is exactly what it sounds like - a goofy, lighthearted take on soccer with that classic LEGO charm. The first match throws you right into the action with blocky players sliding around, missing easy shots, and celebrating in that exaggerated LEGO way.
What surprised me was how much customization there is. You can mix and match heads, bodies, and accessories to create some truly ridiculous looking players. I made a team where everyone had pirate hats and mustaches for no particular reason.
The gameplay itself is simple but fun, though the controls feel a bit stiff at times. Passing works well enough, but shooting requires precise timing that takes some getting used to. Matches are short and chaotic, perfect for quick play sessions.
LEGO Football Mania doesn't take itself seriously, and that's its biggest strength. It's the kind of game where you'll lose a match because your goalie got distracted by a butterfly, and you won't even be mad about it.
