Play Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events Online
You switch between the Baudelaire kids, using Violet’s inventions, Klaus’s book smarts, and Sunny’s teeth to MacGyver your way past Olaf’s goons with random junk. It’s less about jumping and more about cobbling together weird solutions like turning a soup can into a lockpick.

I picked up Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, published by Activision. It was a time when licensed games were everywhere, and this one stood out for trying something a little different. Instead of just running and jumping, it leaned into the books' puzzle solving and gloomy charm, which felt like a decent fit for the handheld.
You control the three Baudelaire orphans, switching between them to use their unique skills. Violet builds inventions from scattered parts, Klaus reads clues and deciphers codes, and Sunny chews through specific obstacles. The goal is to survive Count Olaf's schemes by exploring environments screen by screen, combining items in your inventory to create tools like a grappling hook or a lockpick. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, with a focus on logic over action. It feels clever when a plan comes together, but getting stuck on an obscure puzzle can be frustrating. Playing it is like being the smartest, most resourceful kid in a very sad room.
