Play Liero Online
Dig tunnels with dynamite, swing around like a maniac with the ninja rope, and watch the whole arena collapse as you and a friend turn each other into pixelated paste in real time. Pure, messy chaos where every match ends in explosions and bad decisions.

Liero came out in 1999 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Joosa Riekkinen. It was one of those late-era DOS titles that felt like a secret handshake among friends who still booted into a command prompt, a game built for split-second action and shared keyboards rather than sprawling worlds or elaborate stories.
You control a small, armed worm in a destructible dirt arena, usually against another player or the computer. The goal is simple: eliminate your opponent before they get you. You dig tunnels with grenades or a drill, fire an absurd variety of weapons from shotguns to miniguns, and use a grappling hook to swing across gaps or snag enemies. Matches are fast, frantic, and deeply unpredictable because the terrain caves in as you fight, constantly reshaping the battlefield. It feels like controlled insanity, where every second is a new opportunity for glorious mistakes or desperate, last-second comebacks.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
