Game Overview
Lifeforce on NES is one of those shooters that starts simple—just dodging bullets and blasting generic alien ships—but then the screen starts filling up with these weird organic enemies. Like, half the bosses look like they're made of pulsating guts instead of metal.
The power-up system is straightforward—grab the floating orbs to upgrade your weapons—but the stages flip between horizontal and vertical scrolling, which keeps things from feeling too repetitive. The music has that classic NES intensity, all driving synths that push you forward even when the bullet patterns get ridiculous.
It's not the hardest shooter out there, but Lifeforce has this eerie vibe that sticks with you, especially when the later levels start looking like the inside of some alien lifeform. If you're into retro shooters, it's worth a play.
