Lode Runner 3-D came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, developed by Big Bang. It was part of that era when a lot of classic 2D games were trying to make the jump to 3D, and this one took the familiar Lode Runner mechanics into a polygonal world. You control a runner who has to collect all the gold on each level while avoiding enemy guards. Your main tool is a laser that can dig holes in the floor, either to trap enemies or to reach lower areas. The levels are multi-tiered and require careful planning; one wrong move can leave you cornered or force a restart.
