Lord of Arcana came out for the PlayStation Portable in 2010, developed by Access Games and published by Square Enix. It was part of that wave of action RPGs that tried to capture the feel of hunting big monsters on a handheld, back when the PSP was still a solid choice for deep, portable games.

You control a custom hero tasked with cleansing a cursed land by defeating powerful beasts. The game plays out screen by screen; you explore dungeons, fight monsters in real time combat, and gather materials from fallen enemies. Combat is weighty and deliberate, focusing on timing your attacks and dodging to avoid taking heavy damage. You break specific monster parts to collect rare drops, then return to town to craft stronger weapons and armor. The pacing can feel slow and the difficulty is unforgiving, especially in later hunts. It feels like a rough but earnest attempt to blend dungeon crawling with methodical monster hunting.
