You control soldiers from either Gondor or Mordor, fighting through levels that recreate battles from the films. The main objective is to capture command points by defeating enemy troops and holding areas. Signature mechanics include switching between warrior, archer, scout, and mage classes on the fly, each with unique attacks, and using the stylus for special moves and targeting. The pacing is fast, with respawns keeping you in the action, though the difficulty can spike during larger enemy waves. It feels like a chaotic, simplified version of a bigger war, where you are just one part of the fray.
