Play Lunar Knights (Supremacy) (E) Online
Switch between a gun-toting vampire hunter and a weather-controlling swordsman, timing your attacks with the day-night cycle as enemies shift around you. The combat’s quick, swapping characters feels natural, and those little prep moments between missions give it just enough strategy to stick.
Lunar Knights came out for the Nintendo DS in 2007, developed by Kojima Productions. It was part of that wave of action RPGs that really tried to use both screens and the touch controls in interesting ways, without feeling like a gimmick. The game builds on the mechanics of its predecessors in the Boktai series, but stands well enough on its own.
You control two characters: Aaron, who uses guns and operates mostly during the day, and Lucian, a swordsman with powers tied to the night and weather. Your main goal is to hunt vampires across a world map, clearing out infested areas and delving into dungeons. The combat involves real-time action, switching between characters to exploit enemy weaknesses that change with the time of day. You also collect and combine solar and dark weapons, upgrading your gear between missions. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty feels fair, with some challenging boss fights that test your timing. It feels responsive and tactical, especially when you nail a combo under pressure.
