Play Major League Baseball 2k7 Online
Swing your stylus like a bat—connecting feels weirdly great. Tracing slider pitches with the touchscreen beats button mashing any day.

Major League Baseball 2K7 came out for the Nintendo DS in 2007, published by 2K Sports. It was part of that wave of sports titles trying to make use of the DS's unique hardware, especially the touchscreen, which a lot of developers were experimenting with at the time. It wasn't the flashiest baseball game on the market, but it was one of the few portable options if you wanted something more involved than a simple arcade experience.
You control the pitcher and batter during their respective phases, managing your team through full nine inning games. The main objective is to win, of course, but the real draw is the control scheme. Pitching involves selecting a type of pitch and then tracing its path on the touchscreen with the stylus; a shaky line means a wild throw. Batting is all about timing and angle; you swing the stylus across the screen to hit the ball, and making solid contact requires a good read on the pitch. Fielding is mostly automatic, letting you focus on the core mechanics. The pacing is deliberate, mirroring the slow build of a real baseball game, and the difficulty comes from reading pitches and placing your own throws accurately. It feels tactile and surprisingly engaging when you get into a rhythm.
