Marie no Atelier GB is this tiny, weirdly addictive alchemy RPG for the Game Boy Color where you basically play as a kid running a potion shop. You wander around picking flowers, bugs, and random junk (why does this mushroom look so angry?), then throw it all in a cauldron to see what happens. Half the time you get something useful, the other half it explodes in your face—but that’s part of the fun.
The pixel art’s got that warm, chunky GBC look, and the towns feel alive with little details, like the grumpy old man who hates your potions but keeps buying them anyway. It’s way deeper than you’d expect from a handheld spin-off—I lost hours just trying to perfect a single healing recipe.
