Mask, The came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Black Pearl Software. It was one of those licensed games that tried to capture the manic energy of the movie, fitting right into the era of platformers and beat 'em ups that filled the SNES library. You don't hear much about it now, but it had a certain charm if you were into that kind of thing.
You play as Stanley Ipkiss, who dons the mask and becomes this chaotic, grinning trickster. Your goal is to fight your way through various city locations, defeating thugs and bosses to stop the villain's plans. The gameplay mixes side-scrolling platforming with combat; you can punch enemies, use a giant mallet, or inflate yourself like a balloon to bounce around and damage foes. The levels are fairly linear but packed with enemies, making it a constant scramble. It's a fast, silly game that feels like you're causing cartoon havoc with every button press.
