Game Overview

Mega Man: Powered Up is basically a love letter to the original NES classic, but with a fresh coat of paint and some clever twists. You start off as Mega (before he became Mega Man), helping Dr. Light in the lab—until Wily shows up and ruins everything, of course. The story’s simple, but it’s Mega Man—you’re here to jump, shoot, and steal boss weapons.

There’s an "Old Mode" that’s almost identical to the original, just with smoother visuals and the merciful addition of save slots (no more writing down passwords). But "New Mode" is where things get interesting—same bosses, but the levels have hidden paths and secrets you can’t reach without abilities from other robots. Beat a boss, and you unlock them as playable characters, which is way more fun than it sounds. Rolling around as Guts Man never gets old.

Then there’s Challenge Mode—100 bite-sized tasks like speedrunning sections or wiping out enemies under a time limit. It’s brutal but addictive. And if you’ve ever thought, "I could design a better Mega Man level," well, there’s a full editor for that. Build your own nightmare, share it online, or suffer through other players’ creations. Just don’t blame me when someone makes a level entirely of disappearing blocks.

It’s a weird mix of nostalgia and new ideas, but it works. If you’ve ever liked Mega Man, this is worth a shot.
