Game Overview

Mega Man's Soccer came out in 1994 for the Super Nintendo, developed and published by Capcom. It was a strange but interesting experiment during a time when developers were putting familiar characters into all kinds of sports spin-offs. You don't see many soccer games starring a little blue robot, but here it was.

You control Mega Man as the captain of a team made up of other Robot Masters, and your goal is to win the soccer tournament. The signature mechanics are all built around his abilities; you can charge your shot to unleash a powerful, screen-filling blast at the goal, and you use a sliding tackle that sends opponents flying across the field. The pacing is fast and the difficulty can spike sharply, especially in later matches where the computer-controlled teams become very aggressive. It feels like a messy, unpredictable brawl that just happens to use a soccer ball.
