Game Overview

Metal Slug Anthology, released by SNK Playmore in 2006 for the PlayStation Portable, brought together seven of the classic run-and-gun arcade titles in one portable collection. It was a solid addition to the PSP library during a time when arcade-style compilations were popular among players looking for quick, action-packed sessions on the go.

You control a soldier fighting through enemy lines, screen by screen, using an assortment of weapons like heavy machine guns and rocket launchers. The main goal is to survive each stage, rescuing POWs for extra firepower and hopping into vehicles like the Metal Slug tank to clear out tougher opposition. The pacing is fast and relentless, with enemy fire coming from all directions, and the difficulty can be punishing but fair. It feels chaotic and satisfying, especially with a friend in co-op, as you both try to outlast the onslaught.
