Game Overview

Microprose Pro Soccer was my go-to football fix back when MS-DOS ruled the roost. That pixelated pitch felt massive at the time, even if the players looked like little more than colored blocks with legs. What hooked me was how it balanced arcadey fun with just enough tactical depth—you could go full brute force with long balls, or actually build up plays if you had the patience.

The slide tackles were ridiculously satisfying (and equally risky), and I swear the refs had it out for me—half my matches ended with at least one red card. The digitized crowd chants sounded like someone recorded a kazoo through a tin can, but after a while, it just became part of the game's weird charm.

It’s janky by today’s standards, but there’s something about those late-game equalizers that still gets my heart racing. A proper relic of the era when football games didn’t need licenses or flashy cutscenes to be addictive.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
