So Mirai Senshi: Lios is this weird little NES strategy game where you're basically playing chess with robots. The setup's simple—evil dude Goinkia is wrecking the kingdom of Cecilia, and you've got to march your robot army across these grid-based maps to stop him. The townsfolk give you hints if you swing by their castles, which is nice because some of those early battles can be brutal.

Here's the thing—you don't actually control the fights. You position your bots, manage their stupidly limited ammo (only one reload per turn!), and then watch the chaos unfold. Lose and you get a do-over; win and your robots get upgrades that actually matter. The overworld's got multiple paths to Goinkia's castle, so there's some replay value in trying different approaches. Just don't expect deep tactical combat—it's more about resource management and not getting your robots cornered.
