Play Mortal Kombat Turbo Online

Scorpion's spear whips out before you can blink, Sub-Zero freezes you mid-jump, and Liu Kang's kicks come at you like a machine gun—good luck keeping up with this amped-up SNES version. That pinkish blood still sprays everywhere while you desperately mash buttons trying to land a fatality before your opponent vanishes.

Game Overview

Mortal Kombat Turbo on SNES is basically the original game after chugging three energy drinks. Everything moves faster—Scorpion's spear comes out in a blink, Sub-Zero's ice blast feels like it travels at light speed, and good luck blocking Liu Kang's bicycle kicks now. The fatalities are just as gloriously gory, though good luck pulling them off when your opponent's bouncing around like they've got ants in their pants.

I remember booting this up for the first time and immediately getting wrecked by Johnny Cage because I wasn't ready for how quick the punches came. The speed tweaks actually make some characters way more viable—Raiden's teleport feels less like a party trick now. And yeah, the blood's still that weird pinkish-red from the SNES version, but who cares when you're too busy trying not to get your spine ripped out.

Best played with a friend who won't throw the controller after you uppercut them into the pit for the fifth time.
