Play Mr Nutz Online
You play as a squirrel cracking your tail like a whip, bouncing between clouds and dodging lava while some yeti tries to freeze everything—it’s all the chaos of a Saturday morning cartoon crammed into a Genesis cartridge.

Mr Nutz came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, published by Ocean Software. It was part of that wave of colorful, animal-led platformers that filled the shelves back then, sitting somewhere between the polish of Sonic and the quirk of something like Bubsy. The game had a certain charm, even if it wasn't the biggest name on the system.
You control a squirrel named Mr Nutz, whipping enemies with your tail and bouncing off flowers to reach higher platforms. The main goal is to rescue your animal friends from an evil owl across several themed worlds. Key mechanics include screen by screen exploration, collecting acorns to gain extra lives, and using special items like invincibility stars. The pacing is brisk, though some later levels get quite tough with precise jumps and enemy patterns. It feels like a solid, if occasionally demanding, run through a bright and energetic cartoon world.
