M.U.S.H.A. is one of those Genesis shooters that just feels expensive—partly because it actually is if you try to buy the cart these days. But beyond collector hype, it's a seriously slick vertical-scrolling shooter where you pilot this transforming mech through waves of enemies and screen-filling bosses. The soundtrack absolutely slaps with crunchy synth-rock, and the power-up system lets you rearrange floating drone attachments mid-fight, which changes how your shots spread. First time I played, I got wrecked by the second stage because I didn’t realize you could rotate those drones to cover blind spots. Classic Compile chaos, but way prettier than their NES stuff. Still holds up if you can get your hands on it.
