I first played NARC on the NES back in 1990, a port of the Williams Electronics arcade game. The signature mechanics involve switching between a standard pistol and a rocket launcher for crowd control, plus the constant need to manage your limited ammunition. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes sharply, demanding quick reflexes and careful resource management. It feels like a chaotic, slightly unhinged trip through a cartoon version of a bad action movie.
