NBA 2K13 for the PlayStation Portable came out in 2012, developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It was one of the last basketball titles to land on the PSP, a system that by then was sharing the spotlight with newer handhelds. The game brought the NBA experience into your hands with rosters and presentation that mirrored its bigger console cousins, even if some visual compromises were inevitable on the aging hardware.

You control all five players on your chosen NBA team, directing plays, setting up shots, and driving to the hoop. The main goal is to outscore the opponent through four quarters of basketball. Signature mechanics include the right stick for dribble moves and shot control, along with the defensive stance trigger for staying in front of your man. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike on higher settings, especially when the AI starts reading your plays. It feels responsive and engaging, especially when you sink a three at the buzzer.
