Play Nebulus Online
1987 Amiga platformer. Climb rotating cylindrical towers while avoiding traps and enemies. Features 360° perspective, precision jumps, and puzzle elements like switches and doors.

Nebulus came out for the Amiga in 1987, developed by John M. Phillips and published by Hewson Consultants. It was one of those games that made you appreciate what the hardware could do, with its smooth rotation and clever use of perspective. In an era full of side-scrollers, it stood out simply by turning the world on its side, or rather, all the way around.
You control a small green creature, Pogo, who must climb a series of towers rising from the sea. Each tower is a multi-level cylinder that rotates as you move, revealing new platforms, enemies, and obstacles. Your goal is to reach the top of each one to detonate it before moving on to the next. The gameplay involves careful timing to avoid enemies like bouncing balls and flying creatures, while also hitting switches to open doors or change the tower's layout. It's methodical and often difficult, demanding patience with every cautious step upward. Navigating the constantly shifting view gives the whole experience a slightly dizzying, but deeply engaging, physicality.
